Welcome to ReconciliACTReconciliACT acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land of the ACT, the Ngunnawal people, and their leaders past, present and future. We are grateful to be able to use their land for many of the activities we run in trying to advance reconciliation. ReconciliACT is a youth organisation committed to advancing the cause of reconciliation. Rather than being a political organisation, ReconciliACT’s key concern is that people come to better know Indigenous Australians and consider reconciliation and related issues as important.
• Building social connections between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians; • Celebrating the unique contributions and diversity of Indigenous cultures; and • Raising awareness of the importance and urgency of advancing reconciliation.
We hope to start a movement of young people interested in reconciliation and willing to take steps to ensure that they, and those around them, meet the people, see the sights and hear the information that will make them active, informed and understanding participants in the reconciliation process. As part of this process we organise festivals, youth conferences, forums, trips, and planning weekends away.
